owners/gm could care less about our goaltending this season, so why should the fans care more then the owners?

I think the answer is that they don't.
And I don't fault anyone for jumping off the ship. There are some primo pieces coming, though, as well as bragging rights for those who stuck around to see the corner turn.

I think pegula wants a franchise center and knows you can’t have a good team without one
Yes, we had Eichel. But Eichel never had a core of young players in place. He had ROR Kane Lehner sheary

Never a young core in place to grow together - Sabretooth9
You can have a good team, but probably not a championship team. The Sabres organization definitely lacks elite pieces. They have some nice ones coming though
Good column. Hank is NOT the Aaron Dell of bloggers. He is closer to the Ryan Miller or dare I say it, the Dominik Hasek of Hockeybuzz bloggers. - SabreWest

That's fine and I understand about Theodore, but he also has no clauses and it's a area they could deal from. If it cost more so be it, he is worth it. - Buff36
From the last blog, in the midmorning timeframe.
We will see how the Vegas Cap situation plays out.
If they can "Kucherov" Eichel u till the playoffs, they don't have a Cap problem.
If they want Eichel to play before the Playoffs, they'll have a $7m Cap problem to deal with after they have sent down 3 you g guys currently up.
The Cap space IS THE asset they covet... again, IF they want Eichel back before the playoffs.
